  Step back in time to when shoe shops cared about customers feet. They'll measure your feet, ask which styles your looking for and which colour(s) and come out with a whole array of shoe boxes for you to try. Nothing is too much trouble, if none of those fit they'll come back with a few more, until your happy and comfortable. They still feel if the shoe is wide enough. The cobblers done a wonderful job fitting 2 new zips in my calf length boots. They resole, reheal ladies and gentlemens shoes with leather or rubber and can fit orthotics into your footwear. Foot hygiene! Something that high street shoe retailers have forgotten about people's bare feet trying on so many shoes. Yuk! French and Sons provide the customer with a pop sock, far more appealing. Have always had good experiences at W J French and Sons please don't change a thing.

  Returned here after 35 years and it had not changed. I bought two pairs of high end shoes - Barker and Calipeirre. The sales assistant very knowledgeable. Measured my feet both length and width and I was surprised to find that I should be wearing a size smaller than normal. Both pairs of shoes extremely comfortable and a good selection for me to try. The sales assistant and make me feel very welcome.
